We are launching our second Name Game contest. We are searching for the best holiday message, wishes or greetings from you visitors. It has to be meaningful, touching, original, significant or similar descriptions. You can address it to anyone or to ALL but must be posted in our Guest Book. Take your time in composing one as the game won't start until Dec. 17 and ends on 23rd midnight. One entry per participant and only one winner will be declared. No worry about time zones, you can be a winner regardless of when you posted it as long as it was posted within the set deadline. Go ahead and compose one now, then review it over and over again, then post it. Winner gets $50 cash prize if chosen to be the best holiday message, wishes or greetings of the year !!! Good luck !

Ah, here it is ! Foursome promoting unity and harmony. Mang Mindo is having fun with members of Mindoro Bleeding Heart Club Band . LtoR: Estee, Mang Mindo, Noli and Arnan. The band's name was taken from our Mindoro Pigeon known as Bleeding Heart. Keep on smiling guys !

| we suggest to call our mascot ' ka-tribo sandugo',or "kat-tribong sandugo-an"... ito ay tunay na pangalang Tagalog, although Mindoro have been populated by lots of people coming from different provinces. at one time the island was a land of promise... anybody migrating there in the early 40's,50's and until early 60's were given by the government a homestead of 24 hectares of virgin land/forest per person (not per family)... to clear the land and develop this for farming (homesteading), etc. this (name)will sound naturally with Mindorenos as ka-babayan or ka-kabarangayan... ok ba "ka-tribong sandugo-an"? .... thanks to this website - we got connected with few friends never heard for a long, long years. |

| Let's call this mascot, "Mang Mindo". He/she is the ultimate survivor, kahit saan makarating, nakikita at nagpapakita ng galing. "Mang" is term of endearment; carries respect and shows respect; babae or lalaki puedeng tawagin ng "Mang"; shortcut pa sa Mangyan. Now, marami sa atin ay proud to be from the the land of the Mangyans. Kaya "Mang Mindo" ukol lamang sa mascot nating ito. |

| Tawagin natin ang ating Mascot cartoon na "Maginoong Sandugo" or "Ginoong Sandugo". Alam ng lahat ng mga Mindoreno na ang tawag natin sa mga katutubo ng Mindoro ay Sandugo. Ito ay nagmula sa pinag sanib na salitang "isang dugo" na ang ibig sabihin ay "kapatid". It has been established early in history that the natives of Mindoro has been known for their honesty and strong sense of "brotherhood" among themselves and even extend this brotherly conduct among people of other race, creed and origin as proven by our long lasting economic and social relations with the early traders from China. Ginoong Sandugo embodies this exemplary character of the Mindoreno.He is the modern exponent of "International Brotherhood. Aptly,He he holds a cup of red wine symbolic of the "blood compact" that we practice to forge our "kapatiran". He wears a modern barong tagalog signifying modern sophistication and education and yet mantain his native simplicity by still clinging to his "bahag". The red head band "putong" symbolizes his sature as a "maginoo", a man free of spirit and independence. It is only proper that we call our mascot "Ginoong Sandugo", the noble Mindoreno. |
