Music Arrangement for Original or Adoptation Music., Themesong for Events, Campaign Jingles, Commercial Jingles, at maging arrangements for Choral or group performances.
Hello, My name is James Matira currently residing at Jersey City, NJ. I want to be a part of the Mindoro International Community.

Nagkataon lamang na naririto ako ngayon - "at this point in time" (ika nga.) Salamat at Mabuhay kayong lahat! Asterio - My Flickr:http://www.flickr.com/photos/28722563@N05/

Provincial military commander Col. Carlos Quita told GMANews.TV that Erwin Maravilla, the incumbent vice mayor of San Teodoro town, was seized by four motorcycle-riding men in a highway in the town about 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
The suspects, wearing bonnets, reportedly halted Maravilla’s car and smashed its glass windows before abducting the victim, Quita said.
Maravilla's two aides were tied up according to Quita, but it is unclear whether they were also abducted.
The suspects scampered towards the municipality of Baco when a civilian in a motorcycle approached the scene.
No suspects or motives have been identified yet, but Quita said the abduction is “likely" to be politically motivated. He added the local police and military are now conducting pursuit operations.

RE: OSCAR E. RICAFLANCA (Candidate for Councilor - Calapan City)
Greetings to you and your family! May this e-mail find you in good health and high spirits.
WHAT?
Our father is running for Councilor in the City of Calapan.
WHEN?
MAY 2010 election
WHY?
As his children, we asked him the same question! He says it is his calling – to be of service to others by being in the city council where he can effect changes more effectively and touch the lives of a larger number of people. His mind being sharper than ever, he believes he still has a lot to offer. He has ideas that benefited his constituents during his term in office citing his accomplishments as “Kapitan ng Barangay Libis,” and more recently President of the Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of Calapan City. He has new ideas as well that he wants to put into action in the city level. He sees it as a way of “paying it forward” or giving back something in return for the many blessings he continues to receive.
He has been leading a life according to what he believes. For him, everything he does will one day be accounted for and that is why he always give the tasks at hand his best effort. In the end, he states that everything he does may not be remembered and that is why he is not so keen on doing things to leave a legacy behind. For him, the fulfillment is knowing that he made a difference in his fellow Calapenos lives.
For people who know our father, these things should not come as a surprise! As far as we can remember, he has always wanted to help and improve the way things are. For some of these endeavours he succeeded and for some he did not. We do not want to put his accomplishments in this email, first because not everyone might want to read about them and second of all, that is not why we are sending you this email. So we are putting a link if anyone wants to read about them http://sites.google.com/site/kapitanoca/. You are also welcome to leave a message for him and to other readers. Your views and opinions will be respected even if they differ from ours, that's our promise!
HOW?
We would like to seek your help and support to get him elected. To do that, we ask for any or a combination of the following:
1. PRAYER. We need everyone to pray. Pray that the election will be safe for all candidates and voters and that the true voice of the people will be heard. And if God really meant him to serve the people of Calapan, pray that he may be elected into office.
2. LEARN ABOUT HIS PLATFORM ANDTALK ABOUT HIM . If you have family and friends who are voters in Calapan, talk to them about him and in turn ask them to talk about him to their friends raising awareness of his candidacy and asking them to VOTE for him.
3. SHARE YOUR TIME AND YOUR TALENT. We need as much people as we can to run the campaign. We will not give away money and we do not have money to give away! Therefore, we need to campaign knocking door-to-door and talking to people and listening to them. This is the only way we can get the trust of the people.
4. FINANCIAL - We know that not everyone can contribute financially and we totally understand. But if you have the means and spare capacity to contribute, we welcome it. You can be assured that we will put it into good use..
5. SEND THIS EMAIL - you can help by sending this email to your friends who can support us in any way. And if you are forwarding this email on to your friends, we ask that you add your own message as to why you would want them to read the email and support the campaign.
Lastly, we will keep this campaign as transparent as we can. But of course, we will respect your wishes if you do not want your names to appear in any of our correspondence or reports. We will send a regular update on the progress of the campaign and if you do not wish to receive any more emails from us, please reply to this email and change the subject to NO and we will remove you from the mailing list. You can do this anytime.

Bad day today. Watched ABS-CBNs showtime episode 03.12.2010 only to witness how Vice Ganda humiliated the contestant from Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro after their performance with a touch of Mangyan Tribe.
How disgusting could they get. Must they appreciate the group for the effort and time. Mansalay is not just a 1km-radius from the tv station, for goodness sake.

My father, the late Severino N. Luna, (was known as Major Luna in Barrio Luna, Bongabong) wrote a book about the Mangyans..... "Born Primitive in the Philippines"; available at amazon.com. As children, my late Dad brought us to Barrio Luna after school was out to be with the "farmers" to appreciate, while learning, the hardships of growing the food we ate. It was during those times that we met a Mangyan, Bag-eta Bie. My Dad adopted him into our family. Eventually, writing a book about the Mangyans. Later on in life, my husband, an MD, and I went back to Bongabong and also to Barrio Luna to provide medical care to the tenants and other people from different barrios. Our stay was brief as we were needed in Mtn. Province to serve the clinics there. Nice to be a guest here. Thank you.
Rory called me up last night here in CT to ask help in the translation and I came up with this instant obra. I hope we have somehow made a credible English version.
MY COUNTRY, THE PHILIPPINES
The Philippines, my beloved country, Golden land of colorful flowers, verdant hills and fertile valleys, Fate showered her with love, sweetness and beauty. And because of these loveliness and charm, Foreign invaders were enamored and lured to come, But what have they done to my dear native land? They captured her, and into the dungeon Of sorrow and pain, they cast her down.
Even the birds, carefree in the air as they fly, Cage them and you will hear their soulful cry, How much more for a country so endowed with such great bounty, Should she not crave to break the chain to set herself free?
Philippines, my beloved, Cradle of my tears and sorrow, It is my fervent wish and desire
Hi Juliet, I wish to share this English translation of Ang Bayan Kong Pilipinas which will be rendered by our kababayan Abel Angara at the Multi-Cultural Program for Senior Citizens in New Jersey on Feb. 8. His wife, Rory Adeva Angara will accompany him on the piano while he sings the original tagalog version. She will also play the background music (Bayan kong Pilipinas) while Abel recites the translation in English after the song.
hi to all mindorenos Mabuhay tayong lahat.. Thanks to Mr Lalo na gumawa ng Kapehang mangyan to unite us kahit nasaan k dito tau magkakakilala....
Good Luck and may God Bless Us All.....

OMG!! Pero feel ko talaga.

RE:Art's Concern - Is Mindoro Nickel Project Safe or Unsafe?
As I understand it, there would be no blasting. The proposed mining method is shallow surface mining or excavating commonly known as an "open-pit" type operation. It's not a tunnel or an underground mining type operation. This will only involve removal of the uppermost 4-10 meters of the soil surface. The plan is to mine 1 square kilometers per year and as soon as a block is mined, it will be rehabilitated and re-vegetated simultaneously with the preparation of the next block for mining. Intex gave assurances that to avoid spillage of potentially harmful materials to the waterways, safety measures would be put in placed before the mining operations begin. Transport of ore from the mine site to the processing plant was also given a study. It would involve minimal handling and most likely a conveyor would be used as this appears to be environmentally friendly method of transportation. The solid residue or by-product, that has the texture of toothpaste, would be neutralized and treated before storing it for use on ammonium sulfate fertilizer plant and electronic batteries plant that are also being proposed.
So, it seems like Intex has been addressing Safety and environmental impact properly and demonstrated their willingness to continue an open dialogue to address any additional concerns from the local people. So, I don’t understand your previous post of May 9, 2009, where you stated the “destruction of the watershed, pollution of water sources, chemical tailings effects on fisheries, and acid leakage at processing sites” as the negative effects of the proposed mining project. I’m not sure where you got your information from. Were you thinking of the mining companies of the early years in the Philippines like Black Mountain, Lepanto, Philex, etc? The proposed Mindoro nickel mining project is no comparison to the mining operations of yesteryears where the top most company objective was neither safety nor the environment. The reality of it is Intex as a European company has vast resources and cannot afford to spend the time and money that they already have expended if they, as a responsible company, did not foresee the ramifications of operating in an unsafely manner and without regards to the environment.

To fellow Mindoreños,
We won in the first round of fight against large scale mining of Intex Resources in our beloved island of Mindoro. SEc. Atienza issued Special Order giving temporary revocation of Intex ECC. But the battle is far from over. We still need your prayers and support to totally knock out Intex Resource.....out of the island. Through this letter, please accept our sincere gratitude to all you who prayed for the DENR 25 (Hunger strikers) to witstand the day to day life of being Hunger strikers for the protection of our enviroment. Special thanks also to Tito Art Catapang who always keep in touch with us thru the Cybermovement to Stop Mindoro Nickle Project, giving us moral support and necessary inputs to win. And of course Calapeños USA Intl thru my classmate Paz Iturralde.Tita Juliet, salamat po sa lahat lahat lalo na space for anti-mining in your website.
This is for all of us and the generations to come.
God bless you all.

Hi Dan,as you suggested I went to the Intex website to "seek the facts..."After going through the Mindoro Nickel Project description, I went to Investor Relations -Presentations-ITX June 2009 presented by Erlend Grimstad,CEO.
On pg 17- 2009-Milestones,
Intex claimed" EIA completed-NOT SO
The DENR EIA Review Committee voted for denial of the ECC because the EIA was not complete as reported in the Enquirer.
same page-"Public consultation for ECC completed- NOT SO
Sec. Atienza temporarily revoked the ECC
because this is not true.
On page 18-Social Acceptability
On 4th bullet, Intex reported-" significant increase in support over last year"-NOT SO
In May 2009, more than 10,000 anti-mining stopped the Intex press release in both Mindoros.
What I did not see is any discussion on the watershed location of the mining and the consequential effect on the downstream lives and livelihood when the heavy rain comes.
I have not made any assumption on Intex motives. I just look at what they have done so far.
Looks like IT IS NOT SAFE. Dan, with your background, I think you will find the right cause.
Art, unless you have evidence or proof of the "un-truths" I don't think you can assume that Intex motive is just for monetary gain. The Philippines has laws that have to be followed and complied with before any foreign investors can operate in the country. Now, if you're inferring that we can't trust our government officials and our laws, that's a whole different story. The latest decision from DENR Secretary Lito Atienza where he called for the creation of an "independent, impartial investigating" group which will include civil society groups and representatives of the indigenous communities of Mindoro to examine the serious allegations of the protestors, that should have been done in the beginning. However, he never mentioned that the government will hire mining and exploration experts, which I think is necessary to make this an impartial and non-political investigation.
I don't favor any foreign investors whatsoever. I do have a technical degree and more than 35 years experience in engineering design, manufacturing and project management in California. However, if you expect me as a Mindoreno to symphatize with your cause, I can't just do that without finding the facts for myself and understand what the issue really is.
I visited the Intex website. I gained some information and at the same time noted un-truths. This is to be expected because Intex is going to mine in Mindoro for profit like multinational corporations do.
Like anything that we read, we need to be aware of the motivation of the presenter. As was said, the devil can quote the Bible to its own purpose. As concerned Mindorenos, it is our duty to analyze the implications of what is being proposed. We also need to look at past experience for knowledge on what to expect with this foreign exploiter of our province' resources.
Like, if we are about to do something exciting and climactic, we first need to ask-IS IT SAFE?
Here's the link to Intex Resources website http://www.intexresources.com/section.cfm?path=3,6. It provides a comprehensive summary of the proposed Mindoro Nickel Project's mining and processing operations including it's economic impact to Mindoro. I think as concerned Mindorenos it's important for each of us to seek and understand the facts from both sides and set aside for a moment all our emotional and political feelings that seem to overcome most of us in this forum.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MISS CRISSIA DEL ATIENZA OF PUERTO GALERA,THE NEW MISS ORIENTAL MINDORO 2009 .MY KABABAYAN AND RELATIVE."KUDOS"FOR YOU.GOOD JOB.2ND RUNNER UP: MISS CALAPAN,IST RUNNER UP:MISS VICTORIA,2009 MISS TOURISM:MISS BULALACAO,WHILE MISS BACO:WON THE TITTLE OF MISS MAHALTA 2009.CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL.
Congratulations to Ms Crissia Del Atienza of Puerto Galera for winning the title of Miss Oriental Mindoro '09 that was held on Nov.16.2009 in Calapan City.
The last I heard about Noli is he was at the Pacquiao-Cotto fest.
He is from Pola.
He appears to be MIA in the Intex case.Pola is the site where the High Pressure Acid Leaching(HPAL) plant will be located as well the a large portion of the humongous above- ground conveyor tubes delivering the nickel ore from the backbone mountains of Mindoro to the coastal massive HPAL conversion plant. His town is also the site of the pier where large cargo ships will be docked to deliver nickel to users.
Noli is a heartbeat away from becoming President until June 30 2010. Would he do something to cause GMA a heart attack?Yeah?Nah?
The "palabas "mode in our culture may justify the need for the hunger strike. We could have gone to Court or to the Ombudsman for redress of our grievance. But these venues are also controlled by GMA.
We can cry and pray, not necessarily in that order.
I am trying to locate a long lost good friends Mrs. and Mrs. Robert and Judy Bugarin. Please extend this message to contact me at rudy.lamadrid@yahoo.com or 780 777 2222.

Please, inform Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Judy Bugarin to email me at rudy.lamadrid@yahoo.com or my phone no. is 780 777 2222. I really appreciate if you can help me find these friend. I reside here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada .
salamat po!!!
In reading the news about the above subject, i am just wondering that in the entire writeup there was no mention about the dear old "kabayan" Vice President Noli de Castro (the supposed son of Oriental Mindoro).
The person who issued the certificate is from the national govt, wouldn't it logical that the person who holds the second highest office knows about it and perhaps be in the best position to deal with it?
And maybe (just maybe), the hunger strike is not even required.

To the Family of Marlo Bagus (Australia)
It is quite late to hear the news about Marlo's passing through Rene, his younger brother from Alameda, CA. However, I am sure it is not too late to express my grief and sadness over the loss!
To his wife Yollie, and their children, please accept my heartfelt sympathy. My children and I are deeply saddened by his passing. We pray that God strengthen you with this ordeal and that HE bless you and your family during these times of loss and grief.
God be with you all!
I am not a native Mindorena but consider myself as one; my family moved to Calapan in 1966 and stayed there till 1976; I'm a 1969 HIA graduate and remember Mr. Medina as one of my teachers, Susan was my classmate and Nimfa was 2-3 years ahead of us ( I'm not sure); as a fellow HIA grad and an RN colleague, I am so proud of her!!! To the Medina Family, please accept my condolences; My sister, Susan went to HIA with Terry Samala-- my condolence to the Samala Family; I remember being in a play with Charo Santos ( proud of her for being Pres. of TV network); Of course, I didn't recognize HIA during my last visit in 2001 wherein I saw some of my HIA classmates-- Emily Bunag-Kazira, Neneng Gempes, Armilyn Evora, Laureta Mendoza, etc. ( sorry amigas, can't recall your married last names), Jimmy Concepcion, Ben Castillo, Efren Castillo, etc. Can you imagine seeing your HS classmates after 30 years? I left the Phil. in 1976 and that was the first time I revisited Calapan; I wanted so much to revisit our previous house in Calero but the current owner was out of town; maybe next time.. I really enjoyed the web site; you've done an amazing job!!! I am looking for another friend from Calapan who was also my classmate in UST- College of Nursing 1974, her name is Loida Chua; I believe, she is a OMHS 1969 grad; no one has heard from her; hopefully, she has heard about this web site or someone knows her and hopefully will pass this message to her. Thank you...

Our prayers for strenght in faith and trust in God to the Romeys and de Ramas Families here in Vancouver (also to Dra. Fe Romey Quizon of Calapan) for the tragic death of their nephew Maynardo and his family ( husbande & wife- Maynardo & Lucy and their son Patrick Romey) last Saturday, May 9.
Again our condolences and prayers. We have made Mass offerings for the repose of their souls.
It is indeed a very sad news to hear that Mrs Lucila Abdon-Romey of LA, her husband and son, all died from a car accident on May 9 at Pasadena Freeway. Mrs. Romey was from San Teodoro and the daughter of Coring Abdon. We extend condolences to her brothers and sisters Rudy, Nick , Efren, Rose, Pury, Jacinto and Jonet.
Let us include them in our prayers for a peaceful journey to meet our creator. Mindorenos are all saddened with their untimely death. Again, sincere sympathy to their family, relatives and friends and prayers for the repose of their souls.

Pres Macapagal, Occidental Mindoro Congresswoman Villarosa and Pola Mayor Aranas are for the Intex mining to continue.Land Owners, whose parcels are involved in the mining activities and expects to be paid handsomely, are for the mining to go on.Employees, present and future, and other money recepients from the mining activities will be in favor of the mining.
The Mindorenos who will suffer the the negative effects of mining are opposed to the nickel mining. Those negative effects are:
destruction of the watershed
pollution of water sources
chemical tailings effects on fisheries
Acid leakage at processing sites
Now the fight is on between fear and greed.
The Intex executive from Norway bets that they will prevail because " the Philippines is the Philippines"

Hello! This is Tess Cuasay, eldest daughter of Billy & Luz (Abadejos) Cuasay. I would consider it a huge favor (and my big delight) for my kababayans residing in Germany to email me with insider tips on how to travel in Germany on a shoestring, college student budget. My daughter Sam is doing a Study Abroad Program this summer in Prague and would like to go around some European cities during and after her studies.... Ate Marilyn (Gutierrez), Christian Icalina, Debbie Infantado (we were in the Sound of Music together; you were a wee 'un then): I'd love to hear from you!
To our neighbors, the Samalas: Aida, Edna, Boy, and Terry-
I was very saddened to hear of Tia Nene's passing. I remember her well- how regal and composed she held herself, and yet always with a ready smile for us pesky kids next door. My parents and my brothers and sisters all wish to extend their sincerest condolences.

In the U.S., the Environmental Protection Agency has stopped the scraping of mountain tops because the sludged resulting flows down to the rivers and valleys below.
In the Philippines, The DENR allows loggers and miners to scrape the mountain tops- MT Baco and Mt Halcon in Mindoro.
To preserve Mindoro, as we know it, it is suggested that the Sangguniang- Panlalawigan enact resolutions to protect the mountain ridges not only for Ecotourism but for the protection of the surrounging towns like Victoria, Naujan , Baco, Calapan, Socorro and others.
I would to thank Ms. Juliet Anonuevo Payabyab, for bringing her group in ASB CONDOTELS- Prince Plaza II last February, We hope that all Mindoronians had great stay with us.

Hello Kababayans, I have a question to all those that frequently travel from the US to Pinas and back. Can we transport food from Pinas to the US? If so, what kind of food? how is it packed? May requirements ba? I am asking, because I am planning to visit and take home some pastries with me when I come back to the US. Thanks for your help .....

inspired by the theme: Saan ka man sa mundo, balik mindoro. i wrote this song for all mindorenos out there.. the title itself reminds us that, gaano man kalayo ang ating narating, iisang karanasan pa rin ang ating babalikan, at yun ay ang mga araw sa sarili nating bayan.

I want thank all of you for the many notes we received from those who posted in Mindoro USA, as well as the emails we received from the US and from Calapan. The tribute you have written in behalf of our Dad and Mom mean so much, as it allowed us to vicariously relate to your many individual and collective experiences with our parents. While we are overcome with grief with the lost of Dad and Mom in such a short time interval ( six weeks), we continue to try to find comfort in the fact that they are eternally together. After 65 years of being married, it would be close to impossible to imagine the two of them not being together. Our heartfelt appreciation to all for your kind words and for your condolences. Sincerely, The Medina Children Emmanuela, Ninfa, Susan, Zoni, Engel, Felix, and Francis
Our condolences in this hour of bereavement. May your deep faith in GOD sustain each and everyone of you and make you even stronger in love, faith, and hope.

Hi! I was browsing the web when I came across your site and was so glad to see a group of Mindorenos. I went to Mindoro sometime in the mid-90's for some research. I'm really happy to see Mayor Melgar of Naujan in your album. Where is he now? Is he retired from local politics, public life or did he assume a higher position? He's one of the best leaders your province had. I would have wanted him to run for governor. He and the late Mayor Yason of Roxas would have been the perfect team. I'm sure that what he did for Naujan is something that Oriental Mindoro should have experienced. Thanks.
To:Rose Castillo Kerley and Nicola,Our deepest symphaty to both of you.May Our Lord be at your side at this difficult time. God bless ,The Atienza Family in Maine
Known this website thru Elma Masilang-Laygo, a close friend, an officemate and a HS classmate of my sister, Dinah Perez-Martinez. Congratulations! Putting up this website is a good venue to meet old friends and relatives.
How would you feel if you go home and see the Mindoro mountains in the middle of the island flattened at the top? To validate this reaction, one may see the flattened mountains top resulting from copper mining in Arizona or other sites that have undergone a similar transformation.
If the nickel mining is permitted to proceed on the middle mountains of Mindoro, the destruction of the environment is incalculable.Entire mountain tops will be blasted away so that Mindex, the mining company, will scrape, dig and drill to get the nickel ore. Excess debris will be dumped into the surrounding valleys and lowlands affecting the entire watershed area of Oriental and Occidental MIndoro. Hundred of square kilometers will be leveled leaving polluted rivers and destroyed wild life habitat.
The miners will propose token mitigation efforts which almost always will not be followed resulting in overflowing of tailings containment lakes or beds. The Department of Natural Resources has a dismal record of enforcing safety regulations in past mining efforts in Marinduque, Mindanao and the Mountain Provinces.
May the Lord watch over you for strength to meet each day as we mourn the sudden passing of Juliet. In sympathy and hope, we offer condolences, love and prayers for the repose of her soul.

Our family' s deepest sympathy on the death of your Lola. Having just gone through the lost of my Mom, it is easy to relate to the pain that comes with such as loss. Rest assured that you and your family will be in our prayers. We will pray for the repose of the soul of your Lola.

My deepest sympathy to the demise of Ninfa Medina Saunders for the passing of her mother. To Melot Santos for the passing of his Mom (Mrs. Santos, very well known to me being our neighbor in Ibaba for a long time) I don't know if Melot still remembers me and so as Jun.
And also, to the Dimayacyac Family for the passing of Dante. He was such a nice, funny and good person. We sat right next with each other in high school in our Jr. and Sr. years. I am so sorry that he has to leave us so early and so as all others from our Batch 67 as I heard. May they all rest in peace.
This time of year may not be the good time for our love ones to leave us, but we could only think that they were just summoned back "Home" as their mission or job here on earth has been completed. Again my deepest sympathy in this time of sorrow.
Dear Juliet & family, Our thoughts are with you all during this difficult time. May you find comfort in the love and care of your families and friends.
In the shelter of our Lord, may Lola Kindang be granted peace and eternal rest. She will be sadly missed.

On behalf of HIA Class 62, I extend to the family of Violy Dimayacyac our prayers and condolences for the demise of her brother Dante. He has just "gone home" ahead of us. We entrust him to the Lord and may he live radiant and forever young in the happiness of God's kingdom.
My condolences to Ninfa Medina-Saunders for the demise of her mother, to Melot Santos for the death of his mom, and to the family of our classmate, the late Dante Dimayacyac. My heart went out for all of you. After the passing of my mother, Viring I was left with my Lola Kindang who just suffered a stroke yesterday morning. She's confined at the FEU-ICU Hospital here in Regalado, Fairview, Q.C. She has been with me, my family, my children and grandchildren for the last 35 plus years. We are all praying for her, but God's will be done. My sister Juliet and my brother Jun consider Lola K a great part of our lives.
My Family and I would like to extend our condolences and prayers to the Medina Family of Atlanta Georgia for the passing away of my Ninang.
Yambao family

This message is for the ALBERTO FAMILY, Arturo, Mael, Nora, and Gabriel of Ilaya. As I looked at this news regarding Gabriel's birthday, I did not recognize Gabby. I had to go back and scrutinize each one. I realized you are all the children of my Ninang Juling and Ninong Alberto. I know there is a younger sister ( she is not in the pictures though) isn't it? I haven't seen you GUYS since I was in high school, your Mom whom I often saw since she was the school's principal and your house was across the high school. I am glad to have seen you thru this website. Please connect by e-mailing me at this address: minervahonkala@yahoo.com or visit my blogspot: www.minervahonkala.blogspot.com I knew Arthur and Nora followed your Dad's footsteps, then I knew Mael went to the military, but Gabriel and the younger sister who at this time I cannot recall the name, I did not learn about them from that time on. Now I know, and I am happy to have learned about your family. Please get in touch.
I'm just so happy to come across the web site..I've been trying to find out how to get contact with our ka-provincia.Thank for all the news and information that I gather from everybody. Julie. They can e-mail too.

We are looking forward to its' Third Anniversary, and the group's leadership had unanimously chosen LAS VEGAS Calapenos/Mindorenos Group to host it.
The group had tentatively scheduled this event for Oct. 24, 2009. Calapenos/Mindorenos, set this day for the Third Anniversary Fundraising Dinner-Dance in Las Vegas, NV. For any information, we will publish it through this website and also through the Calapenos website. Please watch for News/Information at a later date.
The latest LGU action is a letter to stop the mining scoping activities.
If the 2007 flood can attributed to the mining activities, as mentioned in the Victoria resolution, will it not be justified to file for consequential damages agaisnt the mining companies, both Aglubang and Intex, in the local and provincial courts?
It appears prudent to start making these companies pay for the side effects, livelihood losses and damages, of their mining activities.
The provincial moratorium ordinance has been in effect since 2002. The mining companies has been continously in violation for so long in disregard of local ordinances.
These mining companies may think that Mindorenos are dumb.
Many thanks to Juliet Anonuevo Payabyab, Trining Ola, Orville Arias, Pareng Tinoy & Mareng Helen Cortez, Catherine Sulit & family, and Elsa Abilar. Next time uli.

The fight to stop the operation of large scale mining of nickle in our province is not yet over. Let's join hands to support the fight against it. Intex Mining is planning to put their processsing plant and landbased storage plant (imbakan ng mining waste) in Silonay. Matindi na po laban namin dito. Thank you very much!

thanks for all my pinsan, Orlanndo, Ron and Gina Collantes, best Salubong to my daughter Eiffelene and the rest of the cast of "Men of the 80's",SALAMAT.
hello tita juliet!!! super thank you for a wonderful new york trip :) we really enjoyed it! sobrang saya namin... and to tita trining too , salamat po sa sobra sarap na lunch!:)

Good eveiing to each and every Mindorenos & Mindorenas. I am Vicky from Illinois and Walnut, California. I too consider myself a Mindorena being the former wife of a Mindoreno from Calapan Mindoro. I love that place especially the seafoods and beaches. I've got lots of friends when I was in Calapan but these friends of mine migrated in USA. We are in Illinois during summer and in California at winter time. Being so friendly I have circle of friends also from these places and Mindorenas are among them. This website is wonderful, you could connect to old friends in fact, one of my friend told me about this site. I search by state and found some of my friends. I'm so thankful some of my long lost friends from Calapan but now living here are located. Thank you again !
Hi, I thought you and other Mindoro people would be interested to know that there's a screening of the movie "BRUTUS", a film about two mangyan children, shot in Mindoro. It's going to be in Chicago on OCtober 24 and 26. The film is joining the 44th Chicago International Film Festival. It would be nice if you can feature it in your website so Mindoraonons in Chicago can watch it. Afterall, it concerns your province. There's also a screening in Hawaii this October, but I don't have the details yet. You can check out my site if you're interested. http://chiquibaylon.net/

On behalf of all the officers and members of the Association of Calapenos-USA International, I would like to extend our gratitude to Juliet and Mindoro USA for the support on our campaign to save a life of a fellow Calapeno- Henry Iguban- 28 years old, and has kidney failure. Salamat po in advance. Life is precious... we can't save every one, but if we can save but one, then we would have discharged our responsibility to our fellowmen well.
